The BSC is a non-for-profit organization and as we
receive no regular funding we rely on contributions from companies
and individuals, like yourself to continue our work.
We are dedicated to producing The Bard’s works
to the very highest standard as maintained by our past productions
which have been enjoyed by audiences all over the UK and overseas and
acclaimed by the press, the industry and most importantly – you!
However, maintaining the standard that we have set
is costly. While we have had to make sensible financial decisions like
most other companies during these difficult times, we don’t want
to compromise the quality of our shows.
How you can help
By making a donation to the company you are helping
to mount the show, pay the staff and actors and ensure that the tradition
of outdoor Shakespeare at its highest level as performed by the BSC
Whilst we have a specific target that we must achieve,
any amount helps. Put it this way: £30 will hire the rehearsal
space for one hour, £350 will pay the cost of producing a period
doublet and £1800 is the average cost of one week’s accommodation
for the company.
We need to raise £100,000 over the next 12
months to cover expenses for the coming productions and see us through
to 2010. It sounds like a lot but with your help and a great season
ahead - we will get there!
Thank you for choosing to support the future work
of the British Shakespeare Company.
